Bio-Balls vs. Pot Scrubbers

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Went ot the LFS to get some replacement media today and talked to a guy bout his filtration when i place my items on the check-out counter he asked me why i was usimg bio-balls instead of Shower Scrubbers he said the worked better than bio-ball, pot scrubbies, bio-glass and thats what they were using in their Filtration for all their tanks anybody have in input on this guys info

I've used pot scrubbers for a year or so in my salt tank
They seem to be better then the balls but I still have a few in there that I used to seed scrubbers my ammonia and nitrates are always fine
And I haven't noticed them falling apart or deteriorating
I would go with scrubbers
Or both

pot scrubbies have been shown to be better due to the reason you already stated, they have more overall surface area.

I have yet to try the scrubbies, never heard of them untill recently but they do seem to be a better choice in a trickle filter.
