Bio Blocks Large ones advice!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It would have to be "Momotaro" to be the real deal. The Chinese knockoffs call their "Bakki House media" also. Actually there's a member on MFK who sells it. Do they work the same? Are they essentially the same thing? I don't know. The vendors who sell Momotaro have disclaimers "be aware of imitations". What I do know that the imitations are much much cheaper.

They were bought many years ago as "bio blocks" from some koi importer. I am starting to think they are not the real deal and I might return them and buy the marinepure expensive ones.

I just received these today. I know they are many years old and seem to crumble real easy. I read that the real deal marinepure blocks also crumble and can be shaped easy. They actually weigh a lot and look like ceramic water runs thru them. They hold lots of water like the marinepure ones. I am gonna use both of them since they cost me about 25 bucks each. I will add them to the bottom of my sump on some stands i will make using plastic biocubes. I probably should of just bought the real marinepure blocks for 67 each.
Any advice on these. I am soaking them and running water thru them now!

My idea and plan as of now is soak them in a cooler over night with prime and a 500ML bottle of stability. Then add them to my sump in the morning!
