bio classes unethical treatment of fish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
update: the bass and chub died due to lack of oxygen. they now have 3 adult crawfish and a few native killifish in a 5G. two of the crawfish killed the third and are now snaking on its body. also for the big shock, a baby flathead(i seriously have no idea how the caught this but i really want to know), a few mad tom catfish and some other small guppy fish. all of these are in a normal 20G tank. about half full with no water.

Why not try to talk them into at least an aerator if anything? We did this in HS... except we had a sponge filter. I know my schools have always had permits to do so. Usually we would go and net things up ourselves with fish tank nets or sometimes they would have larger nets. As for the animals though just explain to him why it died and what should be done to prevent anymore deaths....

First thing, it's their ecosystem project....don't mess their project. Second thing, ask your friends if you can have the fish when they are done with the project. So you can destory them instead of release them back in the waterways.

Also have you ever asked your teacher if she/he knew that it is illegal? Sounds like you are overreacted.

I really dont understand, people get slammed regularly on here for not properlly taking care of fish, why is this any different?

Because we are not an organization like peta. By being a member here, you're signing up to have your tank critiqued. Away from the forum. The best way to serve MFK is by educating, not policing.
