Bio Gold+ and large cichlids??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I switched from Hikari Gold and Bio Gold+ to NLS thera +a and cichlasoma formula mixed with omega one super color pellets. Fish and I love it!

Petco actually carries it now. Otherwise, I order from Big Als. If you want to buy bulk there is a vendor on MFK that sells 5 pounds for $55 shipped.

PM MIKE DUNAGAN ON HERE OR PHAROH....THEY BOTH HAVE THE BEST PRICES AND CUSTOMER SERVICE AROUND. I BUY FROM HIM AND HES IN INDY...NORMALLY HAVE IT IN 2-3 DAYS NORMAL SHIPPING. JUST MET THEM AT ACA CONVENTION IN DC NICE FELLAS.

This is exactly the combo of pellets I feed my fish.

+1, er...Minus the NLS...never tried it but my bro doesnt like it neither so, I take his word for it. I feed Hikari BioGold +, I ran out of OmegaOne but I only use it for frys or juvies to grow them fast (High Protein/High Fat). So DONT feed them OmegaOne into adulthood the fat will eventually cause a bad liver wether or not it becomes the fish's demise, this is just how I MYSELF feel.

Also to bring out best colors, rotate your pellets with the frozen Emerald Entree packs.

I use them all actually. Hikari, NLS and Xtreme. My fish like the big fella Xtreme aquatics the best.

I find mixing in frozen(live) foods and water changes account for the best growth and color though. Food is important, but not as important as water quality IMO

feel stupid asking, but what does nls stand for.I have probably seen it/used it before.I like to try a wide variety of foods for my fish, but I'm not sure.

I thought that Bio Gold + made a difference, but now I'm not sure. I looked over the ingredients and I don't think that MSG (monosodium glutamate) as the 11th ingredient is very essential to fish nutrition. My fish seem colorful, grow fast enough and live for a long time with the varied diet of live, frozen and dry food mix along with frequent water changes that I give them.
