bio-gold plus or sinking carnivore for oscars?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The standard oscar can grow to 10" in its first year of life.

I prefer to use Hikari Cichlid Gold+. The other pellets I would occasionaly use once they've hit 6-7".

A varied diet is best. For my cichlids I use several different prepared fresh and frozen foods. IMHO don't rely on one food feed your fish different things some will be better at one thing others at another. And always keep your water quality high.

Its nice to see a fellow fish keeper around here. You are lucky man it seems like san jose is filled with lfs. around here there is like 2. Anyways, if you can get your hands on some live earthworms then your fish will love you, the worms will help with growth and i have also heard that they improve color.

i ate a massivore delite pellet once... it tasted like crap and couldn't stop tasting it for the rest of the day. fish seem to like it though... :)

i told my little cousin to eat one and i'd buy his lunch!! he did and now everytime i open the bag and he's around he starts gaging! he said it wasn't bad but once you bite into the middle it goes down hill fast... he had parts of the pellet stuck in his teeth and kept tasting then later that night he burped and it smelled exactly like the bag did!!
BioGold is what i feed my albino lunito. massivore delight is a little to big for a 4" my large oscar used to eat them fine...

dont they always do that? im feeding them hikari gold right now and thats what they do.

Yeah, you're right Oscars do always do that some, especially small oscars. With the sinking pellets though mine do it like three times as bad as with floating.
