I don't use carbon or purigen for years in my filters and my water still crystal clear in both salt/fresh water but I already closed my fresh water tanks down. Like someone mentioned above you could try to add some carbon and see its clear up the cloudiness for you.
EDIT:
I just noticed your tank is 180G, I don't think you have enough water turn over from your filters. You having around 400 GPH total after headloss from both of your filters.

I just did a 60 % water change 2 days ago. I had this problem since I set up the tank. Do you think I need A sponge added to the filters ??

I don't suppose you forgot to rinse the gravel when you set up the tank, by chance - did you? That could cause cloudiness, especially if the fish dig

I see, your water is not very clear. No one can tell you exactly what to do. You will have to try what you think works best for you and go from there. I don't use carbon or any other kind of chemical filtration, and my water is much clearer than that. You can solve this issue with mechanical filtration.

Does your tank get any light from the windows. If it does that's your problem my tank gets like that each spring cuz the amount of light it gets. I double up on the waterchanges and stuff extra pre-filter in the filters and usually takes care of it

The tank was set up 9 months ago. The gravel was vacuumed many times. I think it might be the mechanical filtration . I want to try Swiss Tropical Poret. one layer of 10 PPI and one layer of 20 PPI . Every time I rinse out the pre filter and not touch the bio filtration the tank gets cloudy. I never had this problem before however, I used under gravel filters with power heads back in the day.

You don't need to go out and buy the expencive pre filters don't waste your money. Go to Wal-Mart and get pillow stuffing I run two ehiem 2250 on my 180 all I do is use a lot of stuffing and my tanks crystal clear I took this pic tonight. I also do a 60% every 4 days

What kind of gravel are you using? Aragonite or coral sand can make the water appear whitish but your pics appear as greenish water. Try putting a sample of the tank water in a clear glass container and note the color of it.

Polyester fiberfill or batting would be a good choice for fine filter media. You can find both products in the sewing/fabric section or Joanne's Fabric or similar.
