Bio Media is alive

I am shocked by the attacks on me. My advice was in earnest. Turtles are much less likely to be effected by ammonia in the water than a fish. Doing a water change every other day would be just fine with or without a healthy colony of beneficial bacteria. My advice is based on:
1) This is a turtle tank, and the OP has stated in several posts that the only fish in there are feeder fish,
2) The only filter in it is an XP3, which is not enough to handle the bio-load of a turtle anyway
SO, I would not worry about the BB in the turtle tank.

Other posters have given several good ideas for transporting the bio-media for/from the new tank. Personally, I would not worry about keeping the BB alive in the existing bio media. I would break everything down from the new/used tank and clean it THOROUGHLY with bleach and hot water to get rid of whatever garbage the original owner had in it, and re-cycle it (start the cycling process over again, not have it recycled).

P.S. Druu, I was flattered :)
