i agree this applies to many things but not all, however has anyone experimented or thru experience found the cheaper stuff to be a waste of money ?

well the cheapest: i bought was cascade bio rings, and it tured out alright.

pot scrubbies work real well.

i use the cheaper ceramic rings. no branded stuff for me and i have no complaints. my oldest batch is over a year old now and i have no crumbling or breakage. the branded stuff in the uk is about £8 for 500g but i can buy a full media tray full (about 1kg probs more) for £3.99 from my lfs.

I agreed that you get what you pay for but look at the scubbies, loads use them with great success and cheap
