Bio-reactor. How much k1

I wanted to start a bio reactor with a 55 gal. Drum and was wondering how much k1 I should start with.
The drum will be filled to the 40 gallon mark.
Any ideas?

what size tank are you filtering this with?

Main tank is a 560. Sump is a 150.
Barrel is a 55. Using 40

Maybe pot scrubbies. In 55
Small k1filter in sump?

Stock is 3 Leo's. 2 bala sharks. 18 inch clown knife. 3 large green phantoms.
And a planted sump full of bristlenose pleco fry. With adults..

No problems with water perms.
Just looking for a project.
Already have barrel.

according to the media calculator on diyfishkeepers it says 28L for a 560. No idea if this is an accurate estimate.

2 cu. Ft. Will fill the 55 barrell...$85 or so. Aquatic eco has a decent price on it most of the time.

Yep should be around 2 cubic feet. Don't forget the possibility of the knock off bio being cheaper and just as good. The stuff I buy is about 30.00 a cubic foot.
