Ok so I got 120 pot scubbies today and a sheet of milk crate to start construction.

Is 120 enough?

I put them in the bin to see if they all fit, they do.

Should I make them a more organized there are about 6 layers and about 1-2" left for poly fiber (blanket stuffing) for mechanical filtration... so will that work?

Yes, i would stack them nicer, you might find you have more room.

Ok well it is almost done.

It has 13" of space from the high spot in the sump to the bottom of the blue bin.

I just need to drill holes in the blue bin\lid I am going to use for a drip tray, get the blanketing stuffing and build the plumbing.

looking good, if you stack them neater and in rows, you'll be able to put more of them in, or have more room for filter padding

Thanks, I think I have enough scrubbies but I would have more room for the floss...

looks good.. stacked scrubbies is the way to go

id say no becquse althoug you may fit more in the water will pass through the scrubbies in a messy fsashion whereas some water will and some wont in the stacked fashion

that is what I was thinking, and I tried stacking them but since they are arent perfectly shaped it is a pain especially when I am using a bin which is tapered. I think I will just stack the first layer of 4 rows of 16 scubbies then put the rest on top...

Just dump em in. :)
