Bioaquatics? Clown loaches? And tank size?

No one in the world is breeding clown loaches commercially, without using hormones. I suggest that you read all of the info posted in the link I supplied in my last comment.

I read you assume nobody is breeding CL without hormones. Your entitled to your opinion.. Show me the proof Bioaquatix is using hormones? There not claiming to be breeding CL in large commercial scale. They even say its still challenging to get them to repeat breeding consistently. There still figuring out there triggers. But I believe it that's my opinion. You don't cause you want details on there methods with pictures actually laying eggs. I don't think there ready to show there methods yet if ever. There are people who still don't believe you can breed Altum angels..

If anyone, anywhere in the free world was breeding clown loaches in captivity sans hormones, they would be the rock stars of the aquatic world and would be shouting it from roof tops, AND they would be stating in bold print all over the internet that they are doing so without the use of hormones.

Believe what you want ..........

Man... This discussion heated up quick! How did I miss it?!?! I thank you both for your input. I tend to be more sceptical also but I do kind of trust it for some reason. Even if they are using hormones to bread these loaches does that hurt the health of the offspring? Sorry if it's in your link. I'm going to read that now. Again... Thank you for your input.

These guys are crazy Canucks. Need I say more? :D

As far as hormones, I honestly can't say one way or the other as to how that may or may not affect the fishes overall health. The tiny juvies posted in my link came from a commercial operation in Florida in 2009, and like all CL's bred in captivity they were bred via hormones. It's not some kind of deep dark trade secret, its been done by a number of commercial breeders over the years. It's a costly endeavor, which was explained in that link, which is why generally wholesalers continue to buy wild CL's in large numbers which are quite cheap. Make sure to read post #72, Irwin is/was in the business of buying wild CL's (he lives in Indonesia where CL's are collected) and knows better than most about this subject.

My thoughts exactly.
