  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Sad to see that tank crack, you'd put in soo much effort on it.

Hope you make a much better one soon.

That sucks. I was looking at making feaux rocks with a concrete mix. What would you recommend now after your experience?

If doing rocks that can move, do it as normal.
If doing the rock on the glass/acrylic, I recommend placing styrofoam at the bottom too. Im leaning more and more towards the concrete. The lid of the biocube did not shut and im just realizing the tank was giving me warning signs, i just never caught on. The lid would not shut, it was kind of sideways. When I first received the tank, it closed and lined up with no problem. The back of the lid would also close and was lined up, near the front is where it would not lineup properly and i had to force it to shut.

I really believe if I had better padding on the bottom, I would still have my setup running.

damn. 2400 on a 29gl salt setup. although over the years when i've priced out doing a salt tank thats about what i found was the price.

i have an 80gl glass peninsula tank that was previously a salt setup that i've considered going salt with, but priced out i was looking at over 6000 in costs to get started up correctly. insane.

Sorry to hear that! I just set up a biocube 32 and paid $275 on Amazon for it. Salt is so expensive. I think I'm about $900 in and I don't have a skimmer or an auto top off yet.

Yeah its pricey, mainly equipment and testing instruments so most is a one time buy lol.
It was all purchased over a 3 month span so I didn't feel the pain all at once.

Yep, adds up quickly unless you setup with a lot of missing stuff. I was about to drop another 1300.00 on a high dollar monitor setup. The only positive of the tank cracking is I almost sold a monitor system BNIB at a lower price:eek:

Setup a 15gl frag tank over the biocube stand. Still waiting on more dryrock to arrive then herbie drain on this AIO (all in one) frag. Could not sell the sump so this little frag is going to have a hell of a filter system... MonsterFishSsystem :p

You have a lot invested. Could you swing buying a new biocube?

Already fire-sold most the setup. I thought about it but the effort and time was more expensive than the 200 dollar tank.

Im happy with this 15gal frag tbh. Just picked up a yellow zoa and a six line wrasse :)

pics of the 15g?

Quick pic. Sump is not Plummed as I am waiting for more dryrock. Muriatic bath then cycle before sump gets done.
