not sure how much the aquarium trade has to do with the decline of the asian arowana population, but it certainly is endangered...

I think some SW fish would fit the bill. I think the Asian arowana thing would be really interesting, since they "became" endangered and now there's the captive breeding programs with the microchips in the fish. And how they're still illegal in the US...
