Biotope predator tank stocking

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
could i stock it like this:
(1) red wolf fish
(1) crenicichla marmorata
(1) pleco 6-8" (haven't though about species)
(1) catfish (not sure which catfish to get)

not a fan of silver dollars. so i wouldn't likely have any dithers as i can't think of anything that would work.

not sure if a pike and wolffish would work or just fight forever, anyone with experiance?

Red wolves do not like fish that look similar and that pike cichlid does have the same body shape as a red wolf. That being said I doubt it would kill it, more then likely just nip at each other from time to time.

How about a group of bucktoothed tetras (exodon paradoxus)?
They grow to about 5" and aren't terribly aggressive but put on a show when theres food.

I think african predators would be better...bichirs and ctenopomas are cool.

actually they will grow closer to 3" (max less than 4") and are aggressive with tankmates if not controlled properly.
they do very well in a pretty standard amazon biotope.
