It has the skull structure of a common lap, but yet it has 16 finlets(from what I've counted). Hence, it's a CB PBB in my opinion. BTW, by chance, you aren't taisho/kohaku, right? Is this the 5" PBB you purchased from Stone Aquarium?

I am not taisho/kohaku...

no.. not from Stone Aquarium....

What makes u think so??

Any close up picture of the head or a better lit picture?

A LFS owner in yishun told me that he ever had a customer who has a 16 fin CB Guinea Lap and ask me if its a PBB. He showed me the photos and it look similar to yours, but smaller.

Unless you got it from a reliable importer or comes with cert, like tokyogasmask, my guess would be a Guinea Lap with 16 dorsal fin. ;)

I maybe wrong.

Young man,

You looking for me? I am here and you dun go around guessing. He may not be even from S'pore and you anyhow hantam.

yeah it has 16 dorsal finlets, but somehow it doesn't immediately scream Pbb to me due to the patterns and the head. this is a tough one...

thanks alot for tryint to id my birchir... will try to take a better pic of the head... hard to catch this bugger...

appreciate all help...

Holy snap!!! Head kinda look like some of those Nigerian lap but the pattern is odd and with 16 finlets. Could this be a Nigerian lap x PBB hybrid. That's the only possibility that I can think of.

My Indonesian buddy got lap x pbb hybrid but they are only 2". Still hard to compare.
