so many questions :nilly:

she's an alexandrine parakeet, not exactly sure how old but I'd say old around 2-3 years old, she was nipping a few fins when I first got her but thank god she stopped when I got her a bunch of toys... in her past she was ignored and neglected, fed wrong and not trained and I'm currently feeding her a mix of different fruits, seeds, peanuts (her all time fav) and some veggies from time to time.

I have read everything I could get my hands on but still I haven't found anything that would really fix my problem.

i think the only cure is time..

I just started working with my new African grey and nuts seem to do the trick with him. I try not to work with him to long, so he doesn't get stressed out or not want to listen anymore. I have already found out that it just takes a lot of time with the bird.

We just bought a baby eclectus...can't wait to bring him home. Sucks that we have to wait for 2 more months. :( But, we go up an visit him almost every night.

:ROFL:Funny birds. I can't wait till ours is old enough to talk.

OMG!! Mine talk all the time. Sounds like a freaking kindergarten. They talk to each other and have whistling contests and sing. It is a riot. They call me all the time and want to know what is going on. They have to know who comes in the house. They scream if I am on the phone and not where they can hear me talking - they like to help talk on the phone. The cockatoo does not talk - in fact the only noise he makes is a 10 minute screamathon once a day. Usually at dusk.
You need to do some research on the Alexandrine. I am not familiar with them myself. She is young enough though to do something with. An older (10 years or more) bird is harder to train and often will take a year or more to get anywhere with. Try perchtalk.com. It is a wonderful bird website with very quick responses.
