If you don't want to risk an argument you can just say they were not working (you can say they were getting beat up if you like) and that you found them a better home, make sure to tell her you appreciate the thought but ask her to take you out to pick out a fish next time

Agree!

Was a sarcastic JOKE! Dont get your panties in a bunch! Its like when some one asks what they can put in a 10g tank and people reply with "Red tail cat"!
lol. i think i,ll go out and buy a whole new set up for them , not !!! hope fully the oscar will stop hiding from them and eat them , problem solved .

Don't forget to tell your family that fish as presents are off limits no matter the occassion. Tell them if they really want to get you fish or anything fish related to give you the cash in a card, that way no mistakes. Explain to them that your current stock could have died if they had bought crazy aggressive fish or vice versa if they were too weak.

I make it very clear that I ardently hate artifical fish I hope no one ever buys me on eif they do I will just tell that that the water params arent right and that the bio load is high and that they wont be able to handle the current and return them to the store and use the money to buy something nice
as of now I want black banded leoprinous or an L 46 you guys know my birth day is in more than half a year you have time to go out and buy some

Denzel11,

i wasnt offended ;) between you and me , it was funny lol.

hurrah theyve gone . i got rid of the two parrot fish, the people my sis bought em off wouldnt take them back so ive swapped them and my nasty green terror for another oscar , iys the same size as mine so hopefully it,ll be ok its a wuss just like the one ive got and an albino red tiger . i get it tomorrow ....

Blood parrots are overpriced in england, i sold my breeding infirtile pair for 60£ which is like i dno near(ish) 100$, england loves mutant fish apparently.

and i know you dislike blood parrots but they are very interesting and if you did want to get them their own set up you could just keep some more robust tropicals with them as their deformed mouths make them unlikely to eat other fish :P

ps
i got a pair of oscars and they are brilliant fish, take pics when you get the new one settled in :)
