I use my birthday as an excuse to buy myself a present, that I can't otherwise justify buying the rest of the year.. So even the older I get.. I still look forward to my B-day. /nods!

So going and picking out a new tank-mate w/ him for his b-day and putting aside some money to let him "get whatever he wants" would be a great gift to him imo.

I'm going to be the one that behaves a little more jerkish, so really, no offense when I tell you this.

Did you know why the fish died? What fish did you have and what conditions were they in? How often did you do a water change? Did they show any signs of disease? Did you condition the water? How long did they live and what fish were they? How many gallons does your tank hold?

The thing is, if you just buy new fish again and don't realize why your previous fish died, your fish might just die again from the same mistake.

Also if I know your tank size I can recommend a fish type. >.<

If you gave him money, he might just spend it on something else..
