I have 3 scars from my rbp's most of them were when i was cleaning my tank they came up and but me. It is so fast that you can really even feel it !!

getting bit by a P just doesnt sound like much fun to me... I've caught it from my oscars.... and my bluegill but nothing too horrible just a little startling
I once owned a 12 inch Black Rhom,while cleaning his tank,he grazed by me,i didnt even know he bit me until i saw blood when i pulled my hand out of the tank,it really wasnt that bad ,a butterfly stitch,i guess i was really lucky.I always feed my boys before i put my hands in thier tanks.

Very lucky, I have seen my 10" take a bite out of a large fish and I bet he would take a finger off easily.
got bit by a small rb through a net didn't really hurt much but did bleed a little it was only like a 4 incher
Rbp 'curiosity' bite on my index finger's tip... took a small patch of skin/fingerprint area off, was so quick and effective I didn't bleed till I pulled the finger out (2-3seconds later blood came). Wasn't too bad, I think it was just a defensive bite, as I was cleaning the tank and using the filtration-vacuum. Size was modest, a 4.5"-5.5" rbp who was just big/lazy and killed, didn't antagonize.
was hooking new heater up in tank and brandtii jumped out of water to bite me. lucky he never got me hes got some teeth
