the sand is "estes marine sand".. nice stuff i heard about from the smarta$$ db junkie.
that little neon tetra is like the ultimate survivor. kid loves them, i have bought like a dozen(none for at least 2 months). i thought this one was dead a few times, but it showed back up. i wanted to try play with the camera on a different subject, the aro loves to be infront of the camera, and thsi was a challenge.
