When I got my first peacock bass back in July for months he was the vibrant green color with a bright red tail, I got another peacock a few months ago as a tank mate. Recently the larger one turned an almost goldish color his 3 bars went from top to bottom and his tail turned from bright red to a deep almost maroon and his eyes look red. The little one is still vibrant green. My water parameters are perfect, water temp is 30c. They are eating market shrimp, krill, earthworms, and silversides.

maybe it's due to stress decor sometimes is a factor, also the fish's diet

Possible that it's more submissive to the newer Pbass.

Nah, I doubt its stress. He seems perfectly content and comfortable in there. I'll get pics tomorrow to show ya all what I mean.

good deal

colours probably changing due to the new bass, establishing who the alpha is etc.. Can't wait for the pics..

My battery for my digi cam was dead, so its charging. Its funny you say that they are establishing an Alpha. Its my older bigger one doing this. I mean they bicker a little bit putting a scratch or two on each other, but nothing serious. Most of the time they school together and stuff.

Mine do the same thing. Except the only one of mine keeping their color is the big male ocell

What's going on with my P? Just woke up like this. Hope she is fine. Water is great, she is about 15" and 1 years old. It's only 1 side.
