Hello I recently bought a new tank and it came with several fish. One of which Im somewhat concerned about. Its a red tail black shark, would he be able to stay in the tank with my BKG I like the shark alot he is really cool looking. I talked to some people about it and said no because they are agressive but there always talking about the albino red tails. The black one I have it super nice and dosent pick on anyone and isnt territorial.

I also have a red tail shark and it is a terror and is always picking fights with my oscar and jack dempsey, but for some reason I always get stuck with some aggressive fish. haha depending on the temperament of you bgk will determine what tank mates they can have. I housed mine with various cichlids, eels, catfish, and other but it was always the most aggressive fish in the tank

thats the thing my shark dosent bother anyone im just hoping that doesent change after I but my BGK in there.

RTS are fickle as to what/who they like and don't like, and BGK can sometimes be cantankerous, which will bring our grouchiness in shark. I reckon this is a bad idea... Knife may get pestered, maybe to death.
If you go for it, make sure you've got plenty of tight daytime habitats for the knife- PVC, bamboo etc...

I have not has my bgk that long however he is in a tank with a small rainbow shark. I have noticed they tend to hang out quite a bit, and have decided to share the same hide out even though there are several in the tank. The shark does not compete for the bgk food at feeding, and he will chase the nippy barbs who at times cant resist a nip at the bgk fins out of their hiding spot. So far for us it seems to be a good pairing. We will see how it goes in time and I will keep an eye on them.

even my gar was chased by my rts so i would suggest you pick between the bgk or the rts

LOL my RTS is the boss of my 360. I have Africans, Dats, one BGK, angles..... The RTS owns all of them. Always chasing but never bites. I don't think it has teeth?

maybe the mouth is too small =p lol
