Thank you. I got the red garnet from a fish vendor back in 2012. Not sure where they got it from.
Be carefully on buying a garnet sand, some say they will turn purple when in the water instead of red garnet.
Yeah. The 1st time I got garnet. I got this more purple garnet. Wasn't what I was looking for. I later bought garnet sand from the vendor and got what I was looking for. True red garnet. You can see the difference under flash.
1st sand (looks bit more red with flash, no flash makes it look almost violet)

As for the red black mix iv done it and if u want to do it u better follow my mix if u want to see a actual diff in color lol cause I had to play around wit it for awhile to actually get a decent affect out of them .... 80% red 20% black and the black has to be a heavier grade sand or it will disappear into the red lol ...... And oh ya guys how bout my garnet 
I ordered red got purple lol didn't get a purply look plunder flash of camera or under certain lights lol lights or no lights camera or no camera mine is flare out purple !!!!!!!! 
But guess what fellas I found out the polys look AMAZEING on purple haha all polys iv owned look best on purple than any red or black iv ever kept them on lol

that's good too know! But I guess if I end up with purple, at least it's good to know the polys will still like it.

Great pic of that poly sandwich in the plants. Do they do that a lot? Mine like's to hang by his tail in the plant like a snake. It's so bizarre.
