Black Aro Growth Rate ?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have a lot of sponge filter in the 240 gallon (where the black aro and TSN are), I can put it on the 20 to start cycling asap.

I'll start with the sponge filters, I'll add bio spira and put a couple of convicts and guppies that I have in the feeder QT tank to provide ammonia for the BB

You may want to just try to bulk up the aro and leave it be he will grow fast at that size they slow down arrowed 20in.I faced a smiler problem same aro around 13 and a similar sized tsn i was shocked at the tsn growth .I have a 240g, i didnt feel my aro was in danger just because they don't occupy the same level but any fish that did snap he was to nasty and a 240 is to small for a tsn. get the cat out and get dats the 20g bad idea just my 2 cents do what you do.

flamenco What plant is that in your tank? Looks cool! haven't seen it around before..

ah no wonder they looked so healthy and unusual lol

Got my Blk Aro about 3.5 – 4 years ago when it was about 2.5 inches, kept him in a 20gal tall for about 4 months until it was about 8 inches. This was/is my first Blk Aro, but not my first Aro. He was feed any where from 3-5 times a day with NLS and Freeze dried Krill, and 1x 50% change and an additional 1-2x 25% water change. He grew about 1.3 inches a month and at the 8 inch mark I moved him to my 300gal and with in about a year and a half he was about 22 in.

I have two Leich Aros right now in the same 20gal tall, with a divider, and looking to do the same thing except they are on Hikari Food sticks and trying to incorporate the freeze dried krill, no luck so far.

150 gal plus for aro's, feed and watch grow big, then buy a pool... :-)
