  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Man your taking this way to far, all I said was you wen't a little far on your contrast editing and requested some more natural pics cause i'm interested in a black aro and you turn it into a flame fest. Just answer the question next time honestly rather then making up some bs and dragging my old post into it.

I answered the question truthfully and honestly in post #24. also gave an explanation as to why the aro looks unnatural. I also gave you a link to to more pics of my aro that were not photograghed with the power glow lamp. I have quoted that post below and highligthed in red, just for you.

You then insinuated that I was lying. But as it turns out my aro has unnatural coloring because of the same reason your dovii is sporting the unnatural look.

It actually is the lighting on the tank. I don't play much with my pics other then cropping and contrast.

The lighting on the tank is 4 65 watt 6700k pc lamps. I also added (for photographing) 2 40w 4' strip lights one of the lamps being a Coralife brand "Colormax" which enhances the colors of the fish. This is especially prevalent when I don't use a flash. If you look at the following two full tank shots you can see in one the black aro is under the colormax and in the other she is farther back in the tank under the 6700k lamps.

Lots of pics of my Black Arowana and others here

That would be enough flaming for one thread. Back on topic plz.

Nice-looking fish, Bderick. I like the discus fish. My g/f has been nagging me to get some, lol. I just might have to go do it now.

Thanks, I love my discus, they were a pain to raise though. Can't really raise as a community fish ya need to have a sizable tank deticated just for them. Once they are a year old or there abouts, you could then mix into a community. Mine are all topping out at the 5" mark. If I would've done the right way they'd all be 6 inches plus.

Would I be able to put like 3-4 in a 75? Sorry this is off topic of your fish pics...

With a 75g I would buy 8 juvinilles with the intent on having 5-6adults in the 75g. You may lose 1 or 2,but if you did raise all to sub-adult you could then get rid of 2 or 3.

For raisng them go with the bare bottom tank, and at least 2 50% water changes a week(the more the better). Also run the temp at 84-85 degrees. With the discus the main concern is raising them. Once the are older then start thinking about getting tankmates, decor, etc.

Hi Bderick,
Thats a stunning tank you have. Congrats. You should submit snaps of that tank for POTM. My query was how come you have so much air bubbling in the tank. Normally for healthy growth of plants I have read that we have to inject CO2 and the plants will produce O2 required for fish by photosynthesis.
Thanks
Shiv
