Absolutely you should be
I've heard that the black is more difficult to keep, is that true?

I thought i was buying a platinum jardini from one of my lfs, but before I bought it I went to my other lfs and they told me its my gravel color, I dont know if thats true though

The blacks need better water quality and they are slightly more picky eaters. They also grow slower. Ive got a couple of silvers in a different tank, and they eat way more. I just keep on top of my water changes, and feed gut loaded crickets a lot.

If you have the chance buy a bigger one, and dont forget to tighten down your tops. The young ones are much harder to keep healthy.
