Hello everyone

I just bought a couple of black aros. They looked pretty awesome at the store cause the fin is completely black but the tips were orange - personally I've never seen them like this before.

However when I got them home, I got suspicious at the fact that it might be fin rot.

If it is fin rot, what type of medication is BEST for them. I NEED HELP ASAP.

Thanks guys.

Here are some HQ pics.

Not fin rot, shredded fins are from fighting. Treat the injured fins same as fin rot though.

Best remedy is keeping them in water with perfect params and nitrates under 10ppm.

And of course you'll need to separate them.

Do I need to add medication? There were like 20 black aros in a single 20 gallon tank at the store... the fin tearing was done at the store.

I've been observing the two closely and they do NOT nip eachother... I suspect that this was caused by the larger ones in the tank. They however are very harmonious and swim together w/o any biting what-so-ever.

I would still like to know a good course of action to take for the speedy healing of their fins. Would salt help? How many Tbsp/gal should I add?

Thanks guys - you have been an awesome help! Kudos to this great community! :headbang2

very very rarely will a pair work! if u have 2 tanks, separate them, if not then either take one back or go grab another 3 either silver or black aros....
