Wild silvers get DE as easily as captive ones. I've had both in the past.
Assuming you bought your D/E silver from an LFS was there any confirmation provided to indicate that they were actually wild or was theirs more of an anecdotal reference?
Anyone else have similar experience? The odd aspect here is that it's statistically unlikely that you might observe a specific genetic fault repeated w/ any regularity in a random distribution. If you bred from the same stock over and over, sure... same faults over and over. Completely random though? Not so much.
An over simplified corollary would be that it's why mutts are typically far healthier than anything w/ AKC papers.
