I'd be interested in seeing some before and after pics.

sad.... Thats pretty much atmost torture of fish, if not hurting it.

I think people are overreacting. It's not conventional, but fins and barbels will usually grow back without any problems. Are there even any nerve endings in fins, does anyone know?

Not something I would do, but he's not the Hannibal Lecter you make him out to be.

I can see your point its not going to kill the aro. Or the fresh snipped body parts could get an infection and then kill it. But if he was trying to save it from death and no meds or perfect h2o conditions could stop an infection or something than maybe. I would never do anything like it. But to do it because the fish was not perfect? Come on! And further more if the fins grow a certain way under healthy conditions, it sounds like those fins are genetically programmed to grow that way. After reading several threads in the arowana sub forum I would bet this has to be a joke to ruffle everybody's feathers. There is a lot of arguing that occurs in here.

There was another member on MFK who recently cut off his Aros tail because it was damaged and feared it would grow back in an unattractive fashion. Needless to say, it grew back perfectly and yet no one flammed him. As long as he didn't kill his Aro or cripple it, I don't see whats wrong with him cutting off some odd looking fins. The barbels.. Meh they can all grow back. Would like to see some after pics:D
