Black arowanas illegal?

so i go to a lfs today and i asked the guy if they had any black aros coming in. He tells me no because they are going to be illegal soon just like the asians. Is this true?

where do you live? if in the states asians have always been illegal.. not sure about jars and africans.

i live in ny, i know about the asians but i see jardinis and silvers all the time. I'm wondering about the blacks?

yea i know i was directing the question to the guy that posted above me but i checked the list of illegal fish in new york and blacks arent listed.

I have heard that they are having a harder time exporting them out of Peru. I don't think they will be illegal but the price will eventually raise significantly

I'd get one just cause i think they look awesome, but so far no ones sure if theyre going to be illegal anytime soon..
