Just sold my silver to make room for a black Arowana and the guy that bought mine today said he had a hard time keeping black ones. Said he lost two of the blks and the silvers lived, same tank and he said the scalles where bulging out on the blacks only.

TIA

Babies can present more of a challenge, once they are 6-7" they are no different from silvers.

The owner of the LFS that I frequent used to tell me that Baby Blacks were harder to keep alive than the silvers. She very rarely ever keep them in stock and if she did they were kept in the tank closest to the counter so she could see if they were in distress. I think after a while she just never carried them anymore.

photos to help you choose.

Hello, found a very large selection of these fish at Singapore Zoo last year and found them to be very similar to our Saratoga .All these fish were of all the same variety and were some 70 cm long ,maybe they were being kept that way for a reason ie; rivalry , territorial etc , regards Shane.
