Black background...Painted or stuck on?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
definitely paint. stuck on backgrounds looks like crap! they make the whole tank looks ugly and messy. just paint it black and forget about it :)

I've always heard that latex paint is good because you can peel it off.

i seen this the 3d backgrounds before in a video and was very interested .. where do you get them?

+1

I've heard conflicting info (when ISN'T that the case!). Heard you want to use oil-based paint to avoid any problems with 1) water contact & 2) coming off too easily. Looking to paint my 150 black too so your thoughts are appreciated before I go buy the paint!

Yeah sorry, I was referring to painting poster paper to stick on the tank (versus just buying it in the store). Far as painting the tank directly I am not sure, I have never done it.

I'm going to paint the 20 long. The way I see it, the yellow labs I want to put in it will pop out much more with a flat black background and black sand substrate.
