I was given this fish by the LFS. They had it for a few months and couldn't sell it. It was labled as a Black Belt. It doesn't seem like a pure one to me. I had one before it was much darker. I saw this fish everytime I went in and it was always white. Any ideas? Hybrid?

Pure Maculicauda. Doesn't have a very distinct belt, but has some nice red that should develop with age. BBs vary a lot, some are pretty dark, lots look like the one you have too.

:iagree: I don't see anything about it that says that it's not a black belt. coloration will vary from specimen to specimen, with mood, based on surroundings, etc.

Piss him off and you'll see alllll of his colors! LOL:D

look pure too me, with nice reds.
how many inches?

Looks like it could be the Honduran varient, belt is not as distict with more red, nice fish, couple wild ones we caught last year. Ken
