Mine is the dominant fish in my tank and only chases a female JD around and an oscar that I brought back today, otherwise he is peaceful

I've had a male about 20cm and he wa pretty damn nasty. You HAVE to socialise these guys young or they'll beat the crap out of anything you put in the tank!

i had one for about 10 years,got him when he was 2" bought a 55 gallon,he killed everythig,65,75,90,125 finally put him in with smaller cichlids no problem finally found him a female and they paired off and ran the tank for 4 years,he has taken out everything from wild barred midas to dovii,jags,most agressive fish ive ever owned and my favorite by far.i miss that fish,he died about 3 years ago and i still havent found a fish to replace him yet.need to get a new pair.....

it wasnt super mean but wasnt a striaght sissy, id say like a dempsey, would fight back when pickd on but would go out of his way to beat on somthin.
