Black blotches on Dovii head?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
18 thats old enough to vote, drink and have sex get married and buy a house. If you were 6 I would maybe understand.
Hopefully you will do better by your fish in the future.
But don't buy a dovii if you only have a 75. Buy a firemouth.
When you have a 500 gallon plus buy the Dovii then.

Bruh.

Ha. I'm 15 and I seem to know what I'm doing. There is the internet and a bunch of experts who are much better than me. There is no excuse

What ever I'm done wit you guys I'm only gunna respond to people how are gunna help about my doviis Posible HITH or anything related to the OP you guys can go a head and think I'm a crazy person who loves to watch animals die all you want. You don't know me and I don't know you so it really doesn't matter what y'all think of me anyway I'm just hear to try and learn as much as I can about the awesome wet pets we all love to keep

I didn't laugh the **** are you talking about I was sad and almost got rid of my Dovii but then thought if I get rid of him then they all died for nothing and he has the best personality of anyfish ive ever kept. I was gunna buy a red cobra pike today at the LFS but didn't because the dovii would kill it. I buy fish that I think will live with him and I don't know everything so sometimes I'm wrong. But practice what you preach bro. Don't be a hypocritical and go feeding your fish feeders
You only need to read back through this post to see you joked and lol'd about your fish getting killed.
And for the record, I don't feed feeders, never have.

It was satire a sarcastic laugh like a hahaha..oh **** typa laugh and I responded to this to clear my name last time tho idc what u think

wellllll......not really, each generation of youth in America seems to get worse and worse. Believe me, Mate I know people my age and younger that act like they're 60-70 and I know 60-70 years olds who STILL throw temper tantrums and act like pathetic little children. If I had to guess, 30-35 is the "NEW 18" because the maturity level of EVERYONE in this country - or at least a very LARGE portion of it has dropped since the past 15-20 years or so.

Trust me, I see tons of grown-ass adults in LFSs and even friends of mine you could sit here and tear them a new one for how they keep their animals (not just fish) - like until you're blue in the face and it wouldn't make a difference to their stubborn asses. Age isn't so important as willingness to change and listen to wisdom. IME, older people are actually MORE difficult for me to get through to them, at least here in the U.S. - but plenty of young people fit the bill too, they just lack wisdom and experience.

I've had animals die in my care as well, but I learn from it and don't make the same mistake again so they didn't die "in vain".

I strongly believe it has to do with 16 year olds having kids, then their kids have kids at 16 and it keeps going.....I have a friend who was a Grandfather before he was 40!!!! He was only like my age - mid-30's

My parents are as old as a lot of my friends' GRANDparents however,.....s**t, my oldest sister is pushing 55 LOL

Not how I want to end up. I think it's called entitlement and ignorance

Frank, the op threw his age up as an excuse, not me.

Hendre,well put.
Now this is a bright young man.But much more commendable for his consideration of the animals he keeps. He would like some of the big stuff but has enough empathy for his fish to know his limits.

Thanks Stanzzz

I will keep the bigger stuff when I have space. The current combo of fish I have isn't working due to space and aggression so I'm selling a few of them to a person who I know will be able to care well for them and has the tank space and know how to do so.

The picture the OP posted of the side view of the Gar the snout looks very pointed and longer then any juvie Alligator Gar I've ever seen. The head does not look thick enough. The alligator gar got it's name from its alligator like head.

So forgive me for not believing the fish store owner that sold you the "Super aggressive Alligator gar that could handle a Dovii" and instinctually say it's 1000000% an Alligator Gar.

Most "Alligator Gar' sold in LFS are not actually alligator gars. But instead hybrids. Just like so many other of the dear fish we hold to our hearts.

But, that's the beauty of a Forum! Lots of different opinions, and no one needs to convince me of anything. I'm just a guy who has a boat to wax that keeps getting distracted by fish. :) Lol.
don't make me fight you! lol I see what you are saying about jaw shape but I still see 100% gator there, even the fin structure seems more gator to me. Gators seem like they have oversized fins until they grow into them.
