yea they are prob from your live plants, they are marless to fish fish and feed onliny6 on decaying plant matter. though the name of them escapes me. Is the live plant by any chance watter hyasinth?
Black bugs in tank....possibly sea lice?

You would need to remove all plant material to get rid of them. I would try some guppies port other small fish that might eat them?

I removed the live plants because the rays were pushing them outta the bottom. We picked up some giant danios for the top of the tank. I don't notice as many of the bugs but they are still a few. I had posted another thread about possibly keeping live plants in the tank with the rays.....we decided that wasn't going to work being that the couple we had all ended up floating at the top haha
