Black color around Piranha´s gills.

i saw a natgeo document where a group of spawning rbp's formed a black ear patch like a bluegill.

my rbp's having the same thing. But this only shows, like a week after water change. I dont know if their burn gills, but as soon as I change the water everything back to normal.
