Hello Everyone,

I got home yesterday from work and my black convict was very flakey! the skin on the fish was not normal at all but all of my other fish in the tank was fine! I have had all the fish together now for about 8 months.

Can any one explain why it died? Water? Type of Food? hmm...

A rogue wind could have blown something through your neighborhood, and inadvertently, got in the tank, but only a little, just as your convict breached, like he does while you are not home...Then he died pretty fast after that....That would be my best guess....

could have been aggression from other fish what are his tankmates

:screwy: Is this even possible?

I believe that was a poorly placed attempt at humor. What is your stock list and tank size?

Not humor, satire.....There is not even close to enough information, to begin to speculate, as to why this fish died....The hardiest fish in the world just dropping dead, something is wrong........

Hey Spizz, you can just admit you dont have enough experience to help, no need to be a wise azz.

Remyx...I had the same issue 2 days ago with my 2 yr old female festae. I came home to her covered in a film I have never seen before, in my 125 with 6 other fish, none of which exhibited the same problem. I moved her to a quarantine tank and within 4 hours, she was dead. All the parameters in my water were what they have been her whole life and I had not done anything different but add a 3 inch haitiensis. He is a bit hyper and chases the others around, but not her. That was her tank and she couldnt have cared less. Im clueless to what happened as well. Sorry about your loss.

Still comes off as being rude, dude just lost a fish and is looking for answers. If you don't have enough info, ask for more.

I think it was not enough information to help.

The first post was a bit watery but either way, sorry for the loss.

I too had a fish look flakey, almost like he had been beat up but all of his fins were fine and in tact.

I quickly raised them temp in the tank and it recovered well. Don't know what it was but keep an eye on the rest of the fish that were in the tank with him.
