  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Ive never kept white crappies but would love too though. IMO I think they might act differently, but im no expert.. just guessing :) All of my natives are wild caught.

I have access to lots of white crappie, but the black just look so much nicer to me, maybe someone will chime in that have kept both, to tell us the difference in their attitude. Thanks :)

Lol, really? I find white crappies much nicer than black crappies.. maybe its because i dont have much access to white crappies as much as black crappies =/ Lol, well maybe we should chime the both together, it'll be awesome. And btw crappie owners, what temp is do you keep your crappies? I keep mines at 82 degrees.

I have been trying to get mine on pellets now for 6 months to no avail. I have him eating out of my hand with wax worms, but he will just spit out the pellets when he accidentally takes it thinking it is a wax worm. I even try starving him for a few days and it doesn't work. I have tried small pieces of raw shrimp and he spits it out. Stubborn fish!

That is the problem my friend! I starved my black crappie for months! About 2 months without food, real talk. I'm not lying :) wit my experiences black crappies can survive for a long time without food. I currently have a bigger black crappie with my pellet trained crappie, im trying to get that fella onto pellets too as well. I haven't fed him for about 2 months now... hopefully he'll accept pellets.
