black devil catfish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I kept one at about 8 inches with a few dats above 10 inches and an 18 inches ornate.
Guess what:confused: all the dats has got no match with this cat and it almost kill my big ornate:swear:
pass to someone else who can keep it alone in a tank:(

When mature this fish will literally take apart anything it can't swallow outright, any tankmate will sooner or later either be severly injured or eaten piece by piece.
25-30" max, depending on who's profile you read, 6x3x3 would be minimal tank size.

This fish like sooooooooo many others shouldn't be sold without a license issued upon proof of being able & commited to adequately housing and feeding for it's lifespan (Which is lengthy)

my lfs has them and in with other fish (malawi haps) there around the 8inch mark and £40each,
there are 2 of them, they must have been there around 3 -4 months and look like they have stayed the same size,?.

just feed them the min they need to live on, with blood worm:WHOA:

Bolty are you on about the one at Porton?

He was returned because knocking about some other tankmates. I have a 17" Wyckii who definitly lives on his own as rags anything else. Having said that he hasnt gone for my hands yet unlike my Heterobranchus Longifilis which is awesome and is after anything.
