Black Diamond belly

I'm sure its been discussed before, but I am somewhat new to bds. Can a black diamond not have belly spotting? Do baby black diamonds have belly spotting? I'm getting conflicting stories on baby black diamond belly spotting. Any help is appreciated.
 
Most belly spotting doesn't start until the 8" inch range ( (not all cases)

And no not all bds have belly spotting

Belly spotting is an amazing feature on some rays.

What about Henlies ? Just to compare with. Trevor any thoughts on henlie blood with spotting?
 
Speaking of belly spotting, did you guys see jim berry's update pics of his black diamonds. Now there's belly spotting.

Yes lots of hens have crazy belly spotting. Regular leos can have belly spotting also but its not as common

I am very jealous of jim barrys bds

Thanks for the compliments guys! My BD had the belly spotting when i got them. They were about 6" then.

If it didn't have ALL bd traits with belly spotting included then surely it would be down graded to a Leo/bd

If have seen rays sold as Leo/bd that you wouldn't know they wasn't bd until you saw the belly
If sure these rays would have been sold as bd if they had belly spotting

The bd term is just a grading system after all

Is Black diamonds, just very high quality leopoldies? Do they share the Potamotrygon Leopoldi name? I remember hearing that Black diamonds, are leopoldies caught from a speciel place, in asia??

They are all p13 so yes they are the same

4 different grades now Leo Leo/bd bd and now bd thousand island
