Big silicone pressure gun?? You mean a caulking gun? They come in a standard size all you do is cut the tip off further down on the tube .nothing special .run a steady bead of caulk use your finger to even or spread !
yeah, mines 96"x30"x24" and it took 6 guys. Even then it wasn't easy.
I still wouldn't do acrylic though, if you haven't set this up yet, the starphire is amazing you'll love it!
Rays require a lot of width - I wouldn't do anything bigger than a hystrix unless I had 48" minimum.
Like everyone stated wider the tank the better for the ray but I highly doubt it was the width that killed his rays. I have many friends who have 18" diameter rays living in 24" width tanks for years and even breeding pairs too which breed a lot. My friends pair of 18" motoros bred and gave birth to 10 pups in his 24" width tank and they been living in it for many years. The person who lost his BD's probably lost them due to bad water quality or some other odd reason.
Also to source a wider tank then 36" u either pay the extra money and get it built on site or DIY build. If that's not an option then u have the tank's height made a bit less then your doors width and put it on its side and use furniture dollies to move it in. Front main doors measures 34" with the door/hinges removed. Furniture dollies is your best bet cuz there's no way u can fit 6-8 guys lifting a 800+ lb tank through a door. Trust me I've been there with my 450g.

Just rotate large tanks on their side. If the height is shorter than the width of the door then it should go... oh wait, 11 people have aready said this 
Just hire a moving company and let them worry about it. Surely if you can afford a 450+ gallon tank with filtration and rays, you can afford a moving company. You can also take windows out of a house to fit large tanks. Been there done that!

thats not what im talking about at all the the cheap gun you can pick up at any DIY store the one im talking about runs off a air compressor
my last tank was acrylic and after 5 years was near scratch free my new tank has the creal glass you are talking about and the tank is only 2 years old and has scratches
the clear glass you are talking about is call opti white in the UK and it scratches must more easy than normal glass
