Black diamond substrate

Anyone heard of this stuff? You can get it at Tractor Supply. It is small pieces of coal slag used as blasting media, but people are using it in their tanks...Any words of wisdom or caution??

I just put the black diamond blasting sand in my new 90gal set up today. All I did was rinse it really good in a couple of 5 gallon buckets. I think it came out great. I only used 50lbs cost $8 bucks.

Here is a picture of my tank I have had the black diamond in there for about 4 or 5 months and love it but make sure you rinse it very well.

It works fine for rays. As anyone will say, and I'm sure you already know, rinse it real good. Iv used both black & white. Obviously the white shows all the crap easy
