does anyone know were populations of black gars exsist? i would also pay A LOT if someone could get me a couple.....

burr oak nature center by my house has quite a few.

quit a few black gars or regular gars

I really hope I can find one. I know a place where the gar are so thick you can literally reach down and pick one up!

It is not a skin condition.

Melanistic conditions exist in gars for a few reasons morphological and physiological. They are not really terribly uncommon to run across. I've personally seen many of them especially during the spawning runs in Males. There are a couple known populations where this shows up in a large percentage of the population (Male and female) and persists year round.
