Was this pic taken in your amazon river style tank? Can you post pics of your setup. It looked like a bare bottom tank to me.

Pic was tank he was living in before i got him it was a 20 high at a pet store does that look like my house in the background?
Amazon setup i mean just perfect amazon water not tree stumps like Sea World.
Highly Classified info that was supposed to be a joke, since i thought everybody knows sexing Black Ghost Knifes by now its all over the web, just like breeding them, its all over the web. If somebody just did a google search before totally ditching my thread everything would of been cool.
I love this forum there is no need to ditch my New Ghost thread i am excited about my new fish guys leave me alone please.

well then we need more pics in his home that he lives in now...

I'd like to see that BGK in a pic with something to reference it's size to.

 Whoa there guy, you need to :chillpill: don't be so defensive when I'm just interested in your tank. You wanted to share about it right?

I posted your post for those (like myself) that didn't know they could be sexed.

I'm ignorant on this, what is perfect amazon water? My assumption would be that it has to come from the amazon itself to be perfect lol

I'm guessing soft water with low ph? Maybe we can get a pic of the ghost in your tank because this photo/avatar combo doesn't do the fish justice at all. It looks all of 10"

Thanks man always good to meet another enthusiast No worries with your comment just when you are commenting to people that have been in this hobby for over 25 years Amazon River Style with 7 tanks always going and a 400 dollar electric bills you will get called out on occasionally! I actually wrote a huge article about my reply to you but decided to just copy and paste it since its classified information i will pm anybody that would like all the info on sexing and breeding BGK's!
About it being 15" I was actually thinking of my 4 wheel drive van that has a 15inch lift on chassis i was thinking about that when i posted his size! Don't know his size looks like 16 to me!:naughty:

Tone doesn't always come through in text... so I'm not going to assume your tone...

If BGK's can be sexed and I hadn't heard it yet... feel free to "call me out"... or as some people may say, share the more current info...

I've also been in the hobby of keeping SA/CA Cichlids/fish for 25 years... and in those 25 years I've raised several BGKs and have never had one reach 15"... nor have I seen anyone else's that was this big. The largest one I've ever seen is my own (estimated) 14" that was raised in my 300 gal that is over 5 years old. I'm not suggesting yours isn't 15", instead I am suggesting I would like to see a pic of a 15" BGK...

They are a pain to catch in well decorated tanks so I don't expect you to jump right up and go get the pic... but if you ever get the chance...

I have been having some issues hopefully you guys can forgive me and i will get a pic up!

lets see a pic where the flash isnt drowning out half the fish.

Ive see what I believe was a 16"+ ghost knife. I was kept in a heavily planted 75g tank. They had a piece of slate leaned against one side of the tank, were the BGK could hide from the lights. This BGK was almost as long as the side of the 75g tank, which should have been 17". There was maybe a 1/4" to 1/2" of space between the nose and the tank glass with the tail touching the glass. Wish I had a pic of this guy cause it was huge.

my hubby just measured mine.. and he is almost 15 inches.. i will try to ruler him with a pic tommorrow.. one things for sure he is even bigger then i thought.
