Isn't getting another (and preferably bigger) tank always the answer?

my BGK lives quite happily with a crowd of various bichers and a few cichla. no one tries to eat the BGK but they do try to steal her hiding spot.

You should be fine... but when a bgk don't like another fish they can get pretty nippy with them and their nips can do some real damage to fins and whiskers, just look for nipped fins;)

Lima Shovelnose aren't as voracious as the Tiger Shovelnose, so it should be okay. I current have Bichirs with my BGK and they are prefectly fine. Been together for 2 years now.

I'd be really worried about your catfish eating your bichirs that size, and your BGK is also in danger, theres not much to them, and that cat can swallow a fish half his size...

I'd say get rid of the catfish from that tank.
:ROFL:the bichirs are 6" to 4".

Should be fine.
