Black Ghost Knife Missing?

I recently added a BGK, in a 55 tank that has x2 Ornate Bichirs, 3 Godl Severums, and one African Brown Knife. Each Knife had itz own tube at opposite sides of the tank. The mext day i went to look for for the black ghost, and it was nowhere to be found. i pull apart every decor and searrch everything i could not find him. the lid on top of the aqurium is pretty sealed and tight, and there is about 5 inche very big 5 inch gap of water from the top.

Do you think he got weak and then picked on by the african brown knife... or maybe got bit by the ornate bichir and then got swallowed? both african and ghost knife are the same size 5 inches. but the african brown knife seems to do fine, just the ghost knife is missing, or possibly eaten? =S

He could have gotten bitten apart and then eaten. Easier to eat pieces than a whole fish. Did you check all around the tank?

Two knifefish in a 55 gal is not really a good idea. They will spar, and a 55 gal is simply not big enough for one to escape the other.

If your BGK got eaten, everybody might have taken a bite, but it's most likely that the trouble started when your African injured it while fighting.

You didn't mention checking the filter and the floor?

yeah about the filter my temporary 5day piece of garbage filter cant suck anything up lol. as for the floor, i cant seem to find anything, i did find a super worm =^__^= which i threw in the tank for who ever to eat it lol. yes, one of my first thoughts where maybe the african did attack it or possibly even the ornate. and then got injured and then picked on, then got ripped into lil bits and then everyone had a piece of him. aww sad =T_T= owells, no more black ghost knife being put in that tank anymore. =/

I think i should not release this 4.5" Tire Track eel out of his critter carrier just yet, which inside that same tank. He might get eaten also? =X_X=

The problem is that except for the sevs, you have all bottom-strata fish. They are fighting for position at the bottom of the tank. Adding a tire track eel will not help

hmm ok i wont add it... ill just leave him in his mini cage so he can grow, and have 1 cube of blood worms for it self =^____^= and then i dunno see what happens to every one from there =D.

A critter Carrier how big is it.Pictures please a TireTrack Eel gets to big for a 55 anyways.

oh the tire track is currently 4.5" in a criter case thats itz small.. those ones from the dollar store. but hes doing fine, the critter case is submerged in the 55, he happy eats all teh blood worms i throw at him, inside the case is a pipe so he can hide so he doesnt get stress. as for now i keep him in the critter case... though the critter case does not look nice in the tank for viewing purposes lol. random criter case looks wierd and outof place. but itz ok for now, itz not like much people are going ot see this tank in the basement. basically im just letting it grow and grow. and if it does grow to big for the tank ill just trade it for a smaller size one =^.^= sorry i dont have pics yet, dunno where the digi cam went.. i do however have pics on my cell phone but i dont know how to upload them... wierd kudo phone =0_o=
