Black Ghost Knife Missing?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'd take the eel back to the LFS as it's going to be stressed in the cage even though you have a pipe in. Think longterm when buying fish and ask questions first before buying, not after!! If the fish aren't happy or feel safe in the enviroment they're in then it's NOT SUITABLE!!
I also think the brown knife will of harassed the bgk as they more territorial and boistrous than a bgk.
We're here to help you so please listen to advice given :)

Neko,

You have only two choices here:

1. Return the eel to the store. Because you have three large bottom-strata fish, you can not keep another bottom strata fish in this tank.

2. Buy a second tank, larger, immediately. Quickly but fully cycle it and put the eel in it. Later, you can find some compatible middle or upper strata-fish that will compliment the eel.

oh lol, i knew mr eel would grow big like 4 feet long when i bought it =D i wouldnt keep it when it grows that long, just trade it in somewhere =D Okay we'll move Eel! to different tank so he can swim more freely and have more space =D Thanx!!! =D

trading in a large fish is much harder than a small one.
and when looking for the bgk, did you take everything out at the same time or pick one ornament up, look and the n put it back? because its possible he could just go to a new spot before u got the ornament high enough to see under it

hmm im pretty sure mr.ghost knife is Ornate food. but ill double check again just for the sake of it =D. And if i do somehow find Mr.ghostknife ill be really happy to move him in his planted tank upstairs with no monster fish... =^___^=

I'm new and don't know that much(pretty dumb actually) but this doesn't sound like a good situation...

for the eel especially...

oh yeah alex, two african knives fine. The ghostknife and the African knife, shouldn't have been a problem, they are both the same size, and have their own homes. If it was two Black ghost knife they would have fought. I dunno, what exactly happend, maybe it got stressed, nibbled on/picked on but the ornates or Brownknife or even Big Severums, and then got eaten.

As for tire eel, hes going to stay in another 55 planted tank for now. it will take a while for him to grow.

And now everyone is HappY!!!
Many Many Thanks to EVeryone!
