CKs are completely different that BGKs. CKs have really good eyesight since they are ambush predators. They also lack EOD and depend on their eyes for hunting food.

Who needs eyes when you have an electric field? The field would be more accurate and reliable than sight in the murky waters they live in. Plus, they're eyes are tiny!
I got one for free and just by looking at it I would have said poor vision. My mind has been changed as the current in my tank causes food to rush by and the BGK can see the food coming. It will leave it's hiding spot to "catch" the food as it goes by.
I say they have poor eye sight, just enough to detect light, and hence large objects blocking light. But for thier main sense of direction it is thier electrical organ, its as simple as this... they would not have thier electrical sense if they could see well there would be no use in having such a sense. And because they are nocturnal if they depended on sight they would have LARGE eyes as do all other nocturnal hunters that use eye sight to gain as much light as possible.
they have very poor eyesight as others have said, not being able to detect much besides light levels, in addition to EOD they have an amazing sense of smell, which may account for them coming out when food is added to the tank
i have a bgk from wat i can tell they can only tell light changes cause he come out wen i shut the lights off all day he is in his clear tube hiding and if they could see they wouldnt stay in a clear tube this is the best thing i have gotten for him you can always see him but he thinks he is hiding in a cave or somethin best place to buy this is your local hardware store ask for clear plastic tubing its like 8 bucks
