Will a 2.4 inch BGK go well in a tank with 3 datnoids that are all at 1.5 inches?

also how fast do they grow?

It might work. I have a 1.5-2 inch dat with my BGK. My BGK is about 6 inches, though. If you want the knife to grow fast, it will grow about an inch a month if you feed it chopped up live red wiggler earthworms daily. Mine was about the size of your knife a few months ago and it grew to 6 inches already. I feed it twice a day with one meal being bloodworms and the other being chopped red wiggler. Make sure you chop the worms small enough for the knife to eat. If you stick with just bloodworms like some people do, the knife will probably grow slowly.

also what food can i feed him, the lfs told me frozen bloodworms. but i was wondering if they can be converted to pellets or flakes?
if so what kind?

so your 6 inch BGK does not bother your dats?

Your BGK will be fine with your Dats. I would feed the BGK sinking pellets so it could find them easier and it might teach your dats to take pellets to. I have 4 BGK's in with my dats and they are all around 8" with no problems. Low conductivity in the water and lots of hiding spots helps keep aggression down with the BGK's.

i just dropped some sinking pellets in there. i hope he finds them....

Petsmart. They are sometimes called "angleworms", but they will work. Be sure to cut them into pieces small enough for the knife to easily fit in its mouth.

you can go to any fishing shop - they should have earthworms for sale (as bait)

True, but he should make sure that he doesn't get nightcrawlers or any worm too thick for the BGK to fit in its mouth and eat.
